Abstract

Summary Of 360 cases of endometriosis encountered during a 20-year period at St. Mary's Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, there were 35 patients with endometrial involvement of the intestinal tract. Of these, 21 had involvement of the pelvic colon and rectum. The preoperative diagnosis is sometimes difficult to make, and in only three of our seven patients was the correct diagnosis made prior to resection.
