Abstract
(Abstracted from Obstet Gynecol 2019;133:1120–1130) Misuse and abuse of prescription opioids has increased dramatically in recent years and is reported to be the fastest-growing drug problem in the United States. Of the more than 350,000 deaths attributed to opioid overdose since 1999, an estimated 40% involved prescription opioids.
