Abstract Endometriosis is a debilitating and devastating disease affecting millions of women from all socioeconomic classes, ages, and races. Pelvic pain and infertility are the two most common symptoms of this condition. The disease can impact a woman's ability to work or go to school and her ability to reproduce. It can also affect her interpersonal relationships. It can be difficult to diagnose because the symptoms vary from woman to woman and may be similar to symptoms of other diseases. While there is no cure for endometriosis, there are options available to help treat and manage the disease once it has been diagnosed. This article gives an overview of endometriosisits symptoms, treatment options, and current research, and then discusses selected endometriosis resources available on the Internet.
