Association between endometriosis and increased arterial stiffness
Women with endometriosis exhibit increased arterial stiffness as measured by cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) compared to controls, indicating a potential increased cardiovascular risk.

The paper studied whether women with endometriosis have increased arterial stiffness by measuring cardio–ankle vascular index (CAVI) in 44 patients with endometriosis and 76 age-matched controls without endometriosis, with endometriosis diagnosed by histopathology or magnetic resonance imaging. The study found no group differences in age, body mass index, waist circumference, echocardiographic measures of cardiac structure/function, or systolic/diastolic blood pressure, but C-reactive protein was higher in the endometriosis group. Women with endometriosis had higher CAVI than controls, and this difference persisted after adjustment for age and left ventricular mass index. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it specifically evaluates endometriosis association with increased arterial stiffness measured by CAVI.
