Glutathione S- Transferase M1 in the Serum of Patients with Endometriosis

This study investigated the role of Glutathione S-transferase M1 (GSTM1) in the pathophysiology of endometriosis by comparing serum levels between affected patients and healthy controls. Researchers measured total protein concentration and GSTM1 levels using biuret assays and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays in blood samples from twenty women with endometriosis and twenty healthy individuals. The results indicated that while total protein concentrations remained within normal ranges for both groups, there was a statistically significant reduction in serum GSTM1 levels among the patients with endometriosis compared to the control group.
