This observational analytic retrospective cohort study examined pain scores in 35 women diagnosed by ultrasonography and anatomical pathology with endometriosis cysts and/or adenomyosis, assessing pain during menstruation before surgery, during the first menstruation after surgery, and during the first menstruation after three GnRH analog injections. Pain was measured using the Wong-Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale, and changes were analyzed with SPSS using Wilcoxon tests, with significance set at p<0.05. The authors report a significant reduction in pain after surgery compared with before surgery (p=0.0001). This paper is centrally about endometriosis and adenomyosis — it compares pain scale changes before surgery, after surgery, and after GnRH analog administration in patients with endometriosis cysts and adenomyosis.
