The paper is a case report of primary umbilical endometriosis presenting as a polypous umbilical lesion in a woman in her 30s with two years of growth, cyclic changes, and episodes of bleeding associated with menstruation. Ultrasonography suggested possible endometriosis or a urachal fistula, and MRI showed a well-circumscribed ~1 cm contrast-enhancing extraabdominal fat lesion with uncertain etiology; fine-needle aspiration supported endometriosis, and the lesion(s) were then excised. Histology confirmed the diagnosis of umbilical endometriosis, but the specimen was fragmented so surgical radicality could not be assessed, and the patient was discharged without further follow-up. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it specifically describes umbilikal (umbilical) endometriosis, including diagnostic workup and histologic confirmation.
