Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between glutathione s-transferase M1,T1, P1 genetic polymorphism and endometriosis.Methods:MD-PCR and RFLP-PCR were used to detect the genotypes of GSTM1,GSTT1 and GSTP1 in 94 patients with endometriosis (case group) and 102 healthy women (control group).Results:There was no difference in genotypes of GSTM1 and GSTT1 between case group and control group (P0.05).Compared to their counterparts with AA genotypes,participants with AG genotypes were at higher risk of experiencing endometriosis (OR=1.74).There was no significant difference in the distribution of alleles of GSTP1 between case group and control group.Conclusion:The relationship between glutathione s-transferase M1,T1, P1 genetic polymorphism and endometriosis isn't confirmed by the study, mutations of GSTM1,GSTT1 and GSTP1 might not be a genetic explanation for endometriosis.
