Expression of allograft inflammatory factor-1 in the endometriosis

Objective To detect the expression of allograft inflammatory factor-1(AIF-1)in endometrium of endometriosis.Methods Immunohistochemical S-P method was used to detect the expression of AIF-1 in 48 cases of eutopic endometrium and 58 cases of ectopic endometrium of endometriosis,and 43 cases of normal endometrium were used as controls.Results AIF-1 was located in the cytoplasma of both epithelial glands and stroma.There was no significant difference in the level of AIF-1 expression between endometrial tissue obtained from normal uteri and endometrial tissue obtained from uteri with endometriosis(P0.05).The expression level of AIF-1 in endometriotic tissues of endometriosis was higher than that in normal endometrium (P0.05).There was also a significant difference in the level of AIF-1 expression between endometriotic tissues and eutopic endometrium(P0.05).Conclusion AIF-1 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
