The study investigated cycle-dependent changes in uterine contractility using transvaginal ultrasound in 63 women: healthy controls (n=21), adenomyosis patients (n=20), and endometriosis patients (n=22), measuring contraction frequency and amplitude (myometrial pressure difference) at cycle days 1–3 and 10–12. Overall, contraction frequency was significantly higher in the midcycle than in the early follicular phase, while amplitude was significantly higher in the follicular phase than midcycle. In subgroup analyses, the follicular–midcycle amplitude difference was not significant in controls (p=0.051), but remained significant in dysmenorrhea (p=0.010) and endometriosis (p=0.007) even after Bonferroni correction.
