Talidomida no manejo da dor em endometriose: uma revisão de escopo de estudos experimentais
This scoping review of experimental studies found that thalidomide demonstrated antiangiogenic and anti-inflammatory effects, reducing inflammatory factors and improving pain in animal models of endometriosis.

This scoping review investigated the applicability of thalidomide for pain management in experimentally induced endometriosis in animals, using a Joanna Briggs Institute framework and PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines. Searches across six electronic databases identified two English-language experimental studies (both published within the last 10 years; one from Iran and one from Turkey), including a comparison of thalidomide versus placebo in which thalidomide was associated with high pain response alongside reductions in inflammatory factors, growth-related factors, and modulation of matrix metalloproteinases. The review also reports antiangiogenic and anti-inflammatory activity across the included studies, but explicitly notes that the available literature on thalidomide is limited. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it is a scoping review of experimental animal studies on thalidomide for endometriosis-associated pain.
