preprint
OA: closed
Abstract
Big data technology has changed the research paradigm of economic forecasting regardless of the data source, forecasting method or forecasting result. In this paper, by utilizing bibliometric methods, we analyze the existing literature on big data economic forecasting with 821 articles, collected from the ‘‘Web of Science Core Collection’’ database. Using cooccurrence analysis, co-citation analysis, and structural variation analysis, this work not only presents a comprehensive review of big data in economic forecasting research but also captures articles with transformative potential in this field. This study provides meaningful guidance for researchers to enhance the understanding of crucial research, emerging trends, and new developments in big data economic forecasting.
