Abstract

The gastrointestinal tract is the most common site of extrapelvic endometriosis, with the rectum and sigmoid colon being the most frequently affected areas. In the context of intestinal obstruction, the diagnosis remains challenging, as this pathology is usually not considered. We present the case of a patient admitted to the emergency department with an obstructive syndrome secondary to a mass in the rectosigmoid junction, who underwent a low anterior resection. Histopathological examination established the diagnosis of endometriosis.
