Abstract

Treatment of endometriosis in 14 women using Anovlar is reported. In 7 patients hormonal therapy was preceded by surgical treatment of the most important lesions. Average duration of treatment was 917 cycles. Response to treatment in 13 patients available for follow-up was good: uterus and adnexa were mobile; lower abdominal pain had vanished. Dysmenorrhea was reported by 2 patients and ovulatory pain by 1 patient. This method of treatment has the advantage of reaching all centers of the disease and the psychological advantage of retaining the menstrual cycle.
