Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing one single nucleotide polymorphism or more in human flt-1 gene. SOLUTION: The polymorphism scanning of the coding region of flt-1 gene on cDNA formed from the total RNA isolated from a lymphoblast-like cell line induced from a non-relative individual. Eight specific polymorphisms were identified therein. Methods and materials for analyzing the allele mutation of fit-gene, angiogenetic diseases, and usages of the polymorphism of flt-1 gene in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer were investigated. Diseases accompanied by morbid angiogenesis include diabetic retinopathy, psoriasis, chronic rheumatism, and endometriosis.
