Urbani sa tion and la nd -u s e al ter ation s are one o f t he main ca u s e s o f t he cu rren t g lobal
bi odiver sity cri sis (Almo nd e t a l. 2022) . Although th e thr eat s to bio diver si t y are diverse (e.g ., oc ea n
a lter atio n, t e r re s tr ia l l and u se, in s e c tici d es, inv asive sp ecie s ; (Ha ld -Morten sen 2023 ), the s e thre a ts
l argely r e s ult from e nviro nment al cha ng es cau se d by huma n ac t i vitie s. Amo ng t he se, land u s e
c hang e rep re sen t s one of t he mo st im portan t drive rs of bi odive rsity lo ss (Oli ve r and M o rec ro ft
2 014), primarily due to th e c ombined e f f ec t s of mul t i p le abio tic and bi o t i c pre s s u re s, s uc h a s habit at
l oss, fragmen ta tio n (Zhang e t al. 2024 ) , a nd the in troduc t i on o f inv as i ve sp eci e s (M o llo t et a l. 2017) .

Methods
Species and Localities
