Abstract

Objective:To explory the role of vascular endoepithelial growth factor (VEGF) in the occurence and development of endometriosis.Methods:Expression of VEGF was examined in the specimens from 25 patients with endometriosis and the same patients without endometriosis (control) by immunohistochemical method.Results:Positive rate of expression of VEGF in tissues from endometriosis was 72%,while expression rate of VEGF in tissues from nonendometriosis was negative.Conclusion:The results indicated that VEGF might play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of endometriosis.
