Abstract
Endometriosis is a gynecologic condition characterised by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity, causing chronic pelvic pain and decreased fertility. The disease can affect various regions and organs, with the ovaries being the most commonly affected. Endometriosis lesions can also impact the urinary and gastrointestinal tracts, as well as other pelvic structures, causing symptoms such as painful periods, painful intercourse, and painful urination. Patients with endometriosis also experience negative psychological effects related to mental health, such as anxiety and depression. However, delayed diagnosis is common due to a lack of non-invasive and reliable biomarkers for the condition. Current treatments, such as hormone therapy and surgery, have limited effectiveness and potential adverse effects. Physical activity has been used to treat endometriosis symptoms, but little is known about how they can help manage the condition. Therefore, there is a need to better understand how physical activity can aid in the management of endometriosis symptoms to improve patients' quality of life.
