Abstract
Hepatocyte growth factor(HGF) is thought to be a pleiotropic factor, its expression in serum and peritoneal fluid of patients with endometriosis increases significantly, and plays important roles in three pathologic processes—adhesion, invasion and angiogenesis of endometriosis. In recent years, the studies on HGF and its receptor have made great progresses, which opens a vase range of prospects for treatment of endometriosis. This article reviewed close relationship between HGF and occurrence and development of endometriosis.
