Abstract
Objectives:To study the response of endometriosis to treatment of Depotmedroxyprogesteron acetate(DMPA).Methods: Forty seven patients with endometriosis were treated by 150 mg DMPA,one time per three month for 1 year,beginning on day 1 to 5 of the menstrual cycle, Volume of uterus and endometriosis were measured by ultrasonography before and after therapy:E 2 concentration in the serum were detected at the same time.Results: Symptoms of dysmenorrhea were improved greatly.Volume of uterus was decreased from 682.38±403.49 cm 3 to 518.82±377.86 cm 3( P 0.05).There were no significant changes of E 2 levels.Conclusion: 150 mg DMPA is considered to be safe effective treatment for endometriosis,with lower price and more facilitate.
