Clinical value of interventional treatment of adenomyosis

Abstract

Objective To analyze the clinical value of interventional treatment of adenomyosis . Methods Under guidance of digital subtracted angiography(DSA) ,femoral artery was punctured and then catheter was placed in each side of the uterine artery respectively,and bilateral uterine artery embolization was completed. Results Twenty-six examples of adenomyosis were treated. Bilateral uterine artery embolization was done successfully in all patients. Follow up was done at 3 months,6 months,one year,and once in a year later. The patients was followed for 1 ~ 3 years. Dysmenorrhea disappeared in sixteen patients at three months,in 9 cases at six months,1 got partial remission after 1 year. Conclusion: Interventional therapy is one of the most effective clinical treatments of adenomyosis with uterus integrity.
