The study of thread crimp is important for technologists and weavers from a practical point of view, as it has a considerable influence on the behavior of the fabric during weaving on the weaving machine, and subsequently in the finishing process. As part of the study, the analytical approach was created that allows the parameter of thread crimp to be estimated even before weaving. The construction of jacquard fabrics is more complex than dobby fabrics in terms of interlacing. Dobby fabrics are defined by using one weave, while jacquard fabrics are created by a combination of weaves. The thread crimp prediction is based on the number of crossed sections in the jacquard pattern. The calculation of the number of transitions is used from the ProTkaTex software. The theoretical predicted values of thread crimp in jacquard fabrics were compared with experimentally obtained values. In this study, two methods are used for the experimental analysis of crimp threads. Finally, their advantages and disadvantages in relation to jacquard fabric are discussed.
