Abstract

Objective:To study the side effect of tubal patent test. Methods:During the surgical procedure,we performed tubal patent test by liquid instillation and collected the liquid overflowing from the tubals.Using Papanicolaou's stain, aerobes and anaerobes culture to test the endometrial cells and bacteria, respectively. Results:Endometrial cells were found in 66 67%(63/104),but there was no significantly difference when compared with the positive rate of endometrial cells at different time in menstrual cycle.Bacteria were found in 31 73%(33/104),but we failed to isolate bacteria by culture in 27 cases. Conclusion:Tubal patent test which takes the endometrial cells into pelvic cavity may be the cause of endometriosis.Besides,it may have the risk of infecting.
