Investigation of erythrocyte immune function of patients with endometriosis

Abstract
AimTo study erythrocyte immune function of patients with endometriosis and explore the pathogenesis of endometriosis Methods50 patients with endometriosis diagnosed by laparoscopy or laparotomy and 20 normal women as the control were studied The patients were divided into 3 groups according to the severity of the disease.Using rosette formation test, the erythrocyte immune function including C3b receptor rosette rate (C3bRR)and immune complex rosette rate(ICR) was determined. The antiendometrial antibody(EMAb) was detected by ELISA. ResultsThe C3bRR of patients was decreased and ICR was increased ( P 0 05) when compared with those of the control. C3bRR and ICR had no significant difference among three groups of patients.Positive rate of serum EMAb was increased( P 0 05)in patients when compared with the control. ConclusionThe erythrocyte immune function of patients with endometriosis is depressed. These changes of erythrocyte immune function may be related to the pathogenesis of endo metriosis. EMAb may be used as a marker of endometrosis.
