Abstract
Aim: To investigate the role of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and the cyclin kinase inhibitor P27kip1 in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods:The expressions of TGF-β1 and P27kip1 in the eutopic endometrium and ectopic endometrium(36 cases), and the normal endometrium(23 cases) were detected by using immunohistochemical SP method. Results: The expression rate of TGF-β1 in ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium were significantly higher than those in normal endometrium(P0.05) .The expression rate of P27kip1 protein in ectopic and eutopic endometrium were significantly lower than those in normal endometrium (P0.05).The expression of TGF-β1 and P27kip1 protein had a negative correlationship (rs=-0.783,P0.05).Conclusion: Over-expression of TGF-β1 and lower expression of P27kip1 are involved in the progression of endometriosis.
