O Papel da Ressonância Magnética da Pelve na Identificação de Lesões Intestinais por Endometriose Profunda e na Escolha da Técnica Cirúrgica Empregada
This retrospective study evaluated whether pelvic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings agreed with intraoperative identification of intestinal lesions in patients with deep endometriosis and whether MRI could predict the surgical technique used. Medical records from patients treated at Hospital Estadual Mário Covas between June 2016 and December 2019 were reviewed, including MRI reports and operative descriptions. MRI identified 12 of 13 patients with intestinal lesions, yielding 92.6% sensitivity but 25% specificity; among 13 patients requiring treatment, it correctly predicted the surgical approach in 9 (69.2%), including shaving, discoid resection, or colorectal resection with anastomosis.
