Flexible sigmoidoscopy: is it of value?

Abstract

The use of 60 cm flexible fiberoptic sigmoidoscope increases the potential for finding significant colonic disease beyond the cutomary 25 cm. Patient comfort and cost effectiveness recommended the procedure for routine examination and for short operating colonoscopy.
