Abstract
Endometriotic implants that invade more than 5 mm are defined as deep-infiltrating endometriosis(DIE). DIE seems to be concentrated at several sites in the pelvis, mainly in the posterior pelvis. Involvement of bladder and ureter is very common.DIE has the pathological characteristics of typical endometriosis. It seems that DIE may be a significant cause of pain, including dysmenorrheal, dyspareunia, painful defecation and chronic pelvic pain. The symptoms of pain and anatomical distribution of DIE are closely related.
