Abstract

During the last three decades, laparoscopic surgery has been widely accepted in gynecologic diseases with advantages including better vision, smaller incision, faster recovery,a shorter hospital stay, milder adhesion and lower perioperative complications. The role of laparoscopy has been expanded from congenital anomalies, myoma, ovarian cyst to deep infiltrating endometriosis, pelvic floor dysfunction, and even gynecological cancer.Recent technical advances in endoscopic instrumentation and computer-controlled system have made modern-day laparoscopy manifold(i.e.robotic laparoscopic surgery,single-port laparoscopy and natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery).Several arguments on new gynecologic applications and those advanced techniques have been published recently.Gynecology doctors and technicians together make efforts on the development of laparoscopic sugery.
