Using a mixed methodology combining in-depth interviews and surveys, the perceptions, obstacles and training demands of more than 100 innovation-intensive companies with a track record of more than 5 years were analysed. The results reveal a significant gap between awareness of the importance of digitalisation and the effective implementation of digital strategies. Participating companies demand practical, contextualised and management-led training, with a preference for blended learning and short durations. The study provides recommendations to adapt the training offer to the specific needs of the Valencian business fabric, thus contributing to the literature on digital transformation in regional contexts.
