60 Cases of Puberal Functional Uterine Bleeding Treated by "Compound Rehmannia Capsules

90cases of puberal functional uterine bleeding were randomly divided into 60 cases in the treatment group and 30 cases in the control group. The treatment group was treated with Compound Rehmannia Capsules composed of Chinese herbal drugs to tonify the kidney. The control group was treated by estrogen and progestogen. The results showed that the total effective rate was 85% in the treatment group and 84.6% in the control group and the instant effects were close in two groups (P 0.05). Hemorrhage stopped in 3 days in 19 cases in the treatment group and in 3 days in 6 cases in the control group, without significant difference between two groups ( P 0.05). In follow up for half a year, the recurrence rate was 9.7% in the treatment group and 52.9% in the control group, remarkably higher in the control group than in the treatment group ( P 0.05). The findings indicate that the herbal drugs that can tonify the kidney are beneficial to the treatment of puberal functional uterine bleeding, with a satisfactory long term effect.
