Abstract
Abstract One of the powerful tools towards the 5G networks and beyond is the application of Cell-Free mMIMO networks. These networks can provide high levels of spectral efficiency SE and energy efficiency EE. In this paper, there are two motivations. The first motivation is application of cognitive radio theory that can minimize the mutual interference. The second motivation is application of Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces IRSs in cell-Free mMIMO networks in order to improve the SE and EE performance even for shadowed and indoor users. In this paper, the performance of the Cell-Free mMIMO based on cognitive IRSs is mathematically analyzed and simulated. The SE and EE are given in a closed form formula. It can be concluded that, the Cell-Free mMIMO network based on cognitive IRSs has a high SE and EE performance.
