Systematic review on the efficacy and safety of Danefukang soft extracts in the treatment of endometriosis

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Danefukang soft extracts in the treatment of endometriosis.METHODS Data were searched in PubMed,Medline,Embase,Cochrane Library,CBM,VIP,CNKI databases,evaluating the methodology of selected trials and extracting relevant data.Meta-analysis was conducted with RevMan 5.0 software.RESULTS The meta-analysis of 21 included RCTs showed equivalent rate of clinical efficacy,pregnancy and recurrence in trial group,was no significantly different from control group,while the adverse events such as the impairment of hepatic transaminase,menstruation and gastrointestinal function are significantly different from control group.CONCLUSION Compared with conventional western medicine therapy,Danefukang soft extracts can achieve equivalent clinical efficacy and better safety.While for the number and quality of included study are not satisfactory,the results of study should be confirmed by multi-centre,large randomized double-blind control trials.
