Abstract

(Abstracted from J Pediatr Adolesc Gynecol 2024;37(4):402–406 One of the leading causes of dysmenorrhea in adolescents is endometriosis, or the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus. Endometriosis significantly impacts quality of life and the ability to complete activities of daily living; treatments currently include hormonal therapy of several forms, including oral, vaginal, or transdermal contraceptives and progestin-only therapies.
