This educational poster outlines the radiological characteristics of deep endometriosis using magnetic resonance imaging to facilitate rapid diagnosis and effective pre-surgical planning. It highlights that while the etiology remains unknown, the condition commonly presents with dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, and infertility in women of reproductive age, often showing poor correlation between clinical severity and imaging findings. The authors identify MRI as the superior non-invasive diagnostic tool for assessing lesion extent and size, emphasizing a minimum protocol of T1 and fat-saturated sequences to detect small implants hidden by adhesions. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically focusing on the role of MRI in diagnosing deep infiltrating lesions and guiding surgical excision.
