We utilized health examination data from the annual health checkup system to assess the prevalence of overweight and obesity, as well as the incidence of related complications. A total of 8,691 eligible health checkup participants were included in the analysis of overweight and obesity-related outcomes, with prevalence rates calculated stratified by gender, age, and region. Additionally, the incidence of complications related to overweight and obesity was analyzed using logistic regression, categorized by body mass index (BMI). Overall, 45.58% of participants were classified as overweight, while 14.03% were classified as obese. The proportion of male participants who were overweight and obese was significantly higher than that of females (overweight: 52.03% vs. 20.10%; obesity: 16.52% vs. 4.16%). Furthermore, growth trends across different age groups exhibited distinct characteristics for both genders. The prevalence of various common complications generally increased with advancing age, with the peak ages for the prevalence rates of different complications varying; notably, the majority of cases displayed higher prevalence rates in males compared to females within the same age group. These findings can enhance population health management and inform public health prevention strategies.
