Abstract

The effects of prostaglandins (PG) E1 E2 E3 F1 alpha and F2 on the spontaneous motility of nonpregnant isolated human myometrium were compared with the effects of partially purified human seminal fluid prostaglandin. The synthetic PGs caused the same inhibition of the motility as did the human seminal PG. The threshold dose for all PGs was around .01 mcg/ml of bath fluid. Relatively speaking the PGFs were least active to the point of inactivity. The consequences of these differences must be taken into account when performing bioassays. (Summaries in GER FRE)
