Abstract

Object of research is 80 women of the early postmenopausal period with different severity of climacteric syndrome, who were examined before and during the treatment (after 3, 6, 9 months) with genistein 60 mg. Objective is to estimate clinical efficiency of genistein 60 mg for treatment of climacteric syndrome. Methods. The assessment of severity of climacteric syndrome before and during this treatment was carried out on the basis of calculation of the modified menopausal index (MMI) according to Kupperman to E.V.Uvarova's modifications (1983). Results. Genistein of 60 mg is highly effective preparation for treatment of mild climacteric syndrome, less effective at moderate severity and ineffective for treatment of heavy degree. The clinical effect of genistein is especially expressed at prevalence in a clinical picture of a climacteric syndrome of psychoemotional symptoms and frustration of a dream. The clinical effect from reception of preparation is accumulative and reaches maximum by 6th month of treatment, decreasing by 9-th month. Collateral reactions (mastalgiya, stomach pain, headache) are observed in the first 3-4 months of reception. Conclusions. It was discovered the group of women with climacteric syndrome who can treat the pathology with genistein 60 mg more effectively.
