Abstract
Abstract The high temperatures achieved in the machining of hardened steels generate high costs to the process, especially about the problems related to the wear suffered by the cutting tool that influence both economic viability and production performance, in return facilitates the machining of low machinability materials such as hardened steels. The objective of this work is to analyze the temperature behavior in the tool chip interface, through the thermocouple tool/part method. To understand the maximum temperatures reached, since the chip/tool interface temperature, the cutting parameters that will be varied are cutting speed, feed, depth of cut, rake angle and wear stage. From this, to evaluate the influence of the variation of the cutting speed on the average increase in temperature of 204°C during the tests.
