Abstract
Objective To observe the expression of macrophage in ammatory protein 1α(MIP-1α) in endometriosis, and explore its clinical significance. Methods The concentration of MIP-1α in menstrual effluent, serum and peritoneal fluid was detected using enzyme-linked immunosobent assay from 35 EMs patients(experimental group) including 20 women withⅠ-Ⅱ stages and 15 women with Ⅲ-Ⅳ stages and 25 patients with uterine fibroids suffering hysterectomy(control group).Expression levels of MIP-1α mRNA were measured by RT-PCR in endometrium. Results MIP-1α concentrations in menstrual effluent and peritoneal and expression levels of MIP-1α mRNA in experimental group were significantly increased in Ⅰ-Ⅱand Ⅲ-Ⅳ stages compared with control group(P 0.01 or P 0.05),furthermore these indicators were higher in Ⅲ-Ⅳstages thanⅠ-Ⅱ stages(P 0.01).There was no significant difference in serum MIP-1α concentration between experimental group and control group(P 0.05).Conclusion MIP-1α may play an important role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.Determination of MIP-1α in menstrual effluent is convenient,cheap,non-invasive and possesses good compliance, which might be a valuable index for the diagnosis of endometriosis.
