Findings show that stronger clan culture suppresses green innovation, a result confirmed through robustness checks and endogeneity analysis. Moderating factors, including poor financial performance, stricter government regulation, and locally hired CEOs, amplify this effect. Drawing on free market, power conflict, and upper echelons theories, the study highlights the cultural determinants of corporate behavior and green innovation. It provides insights for developing strategies and policies to promote sustainable and high-quality corporate growth.
