Research of Relation between Female Physical Types and Incidence of Endometriosis

Objective:To explore the types distribution of physical condition in endometriosis patients in order for provide basis to the Chinese medicine-based disease prevention and treatment.Methods:We collected 100 patients with endometriosis as the case group who were treated in gynecology department both outpatient and inpatient of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of TCM,on the other hand,50 healthy women treated in Disease-prevention Treatment Center were collected in the same period as the control group.Each group were investigated according to the TCM scales of body types,created by Wang Qi who works at Beijing University of TCM.Results:Blood stasis type in the case group reached the highest incidence,followed by Yang-deficiency type.On the other side,Moderate type and Damp-hot type were majority in the control group.Differences between the two groups of Blood stasis type,Yang-deficiency type and Damp-hot type were statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion:Blood stasis type,Yang-deficiency type and the incidence of endometriosis had a positive correlation.Logistic regression analysis showed that Blood stasis type and Yang-deficiency type were risk physical types of endometriosis.
