Abstract

ObjectiveTo explore the effects of personality,reproductive hormones,life events and quality of life on climacteric syndrome.MethodsEighty-four climacteric women, aged 45 to 55, were assessed with Kupperman revised scale, LES,WHOQOL-BRIEF, and were measured for serum reproductive hormones. ResultsThe average scores of EPQ-N(12.31±5.07) ,the total of LES(41.15±29.34),negative LES scores(37.44±29.24) and positive LES scores(3.72±6.58) in the high score group were significantly higher than those of low score group (4.60±3.97,3.69±10.67,3.42±10.70,0.27±1.10, P0.01),and the average scores of the physiological subscale(13.41±2.16 vs 15.84±1.52),the mental subscale (12.70±1.88 vs 15.08 ±1.96), the social subscale(13.13±2.24 vs 15.29±1.65)and the environmental subscale of WHOQOL-BRIEF in the high score group were significantly lower than those of low score group(P0.01). ConclusionUnstable personality, life events and quality of life have a major effect in climacteric syndrome.
