Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of Curcumin on microvessel density(MVD) and antiangiogenesis in ectopic endometrium of rats. Methods Endometriosis model was established in wistar rats and the model rats were divided into the control group, sham operated group, model group,high-dose group and low-dose group after 4 weeks.MVD was observed in eutopic and ectopic endometrium by immunohistochemistry(SP technique) after 28 days treatment. Results MVD in ectopic endometrium decreased remarkably after treatment of curcumin after 4 weeks(P0.05),while the difference was no significant in the eutopic endometrium.Curcumin could significantly inhibit proliferation of ectopic endometrium in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion Curcumin has inhibitory effect on the expression of MVD and angiogenesis in ectopic endometrium of rats,in a dose-dependent manner.Cuecumin maybe a new drug of antiangiogenesis in ectopic endometrium.
