Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to review relevant research and theories on appearance anxiety, locus of control, and emotional competence among young adults and examine the relationships between these variables. The study employs three scales to measure these variables: the Appearance Anxiety Inventory by Veale, the Emotional Competence Scale by Bharadwaj and Sharma, and Rotter's Locus of Control Scale.
