Abstract

Individuelle Gesundheitsleistungen (IGeL) sind medizinische Leistungen außerhalb des Leistungskataloges der gesetzlichen Krankenkassen. Sie werden von niedergelassenen Ärzt*innen angeboten und von Patient*innen in Eigenleistung bezahlt. Aktuell hat der sogenannte IGeL-Monitor, eine Institution des Medizinischen Dienstes der gesetzlichen Krankenkassen, zum 4. Mal seinen IGeL-Report publiziert. Hierbei wird hervorgehoben, dass die transvaginale Sonografie von Uterus und Eierstöcken besonders fragwürdig sei. Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ultraschall in der Medizin e. V. (DEGUM) kritisiert diese Einschätzung und fürchtet eine Verunsicherung der Patientinnen. Die DEGUM weist darauf hin, dass die transvaginale Sonografie der Ovarien als wichtige, komplettierende Erweiterung der gynäkologischen Routineuntersuchungen zu betrachten sei, unter anderem in der Diagnostik und Ausbreitungseinschätzung der Endometriose.
