Abstract

The occurrence of gastro-intestinal endometriosis is not a rarity, only few cases however need to be treated surgically. In our poster we present 10 cases of general surgery patients with endometriosis in the gastro-intestinal tract and other rare localizations. In most cases surgical therapy was necessary in order to delineate endometriosis against carcinoma and for the purpose of treating circatrial stenosis, which is commonly associated with this disease. Moreover, the diagnosis of cysts in the inguinal region became possible only after surgery and postoperative histological examination.
