Abstract
Objective To investigate the Expression of High Mobility Group Box 1 protein in serum and peritoneal fluid in Endometriosis and its clinical significance. Methods Forty patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopy for endometriosis from Mar 2010 to Sep 2011were studied, including stage I-II(early stage) 18 cases and stage III-IV(late stage) 22 cases. In addition,25 patients with tubal factor infertility(TFI) and ovarian teratomas were selected as control group. The serum and peritoneal fluid were collected in both groups. Then the HMGB1 expression in serum and peritoneal fluid were detected by ELISA method. Then the correlation analysis between HMGB1 of serum and peritoneal fluid was performed. Results ① The HMGB1 expression in serum and peritoneal fluid in endotriosis group increased significantly than control group(P0.05);② The HMGB1 expression in late stage was significantly higher than early stage(P0.05);③ There was significant positive The level of HMGB1 in serum showed significantly positive correlations with HMGB1 in peritoneal fluid(r=0.026,P0 05).Conclusion The HMGB1 expression in serum and peritoneal fluid significantly increased in endometriosis patients, especially in the late stage of endotriosis.HMGB1 may be a useful marker for determining the sererity of the endometriosis.
