Nevertheless, previous studies have not explored the use of interactive learning media specifically designed to accommodate the three predominant learning styles visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. This study seeks to examine the effectiveness of MathFrac Edu, an interactive multimedia platform designed to enhance students’ understanding of fractions. This study employed a quasi-experimental design utilizing a non-equivalent control group, comprising an experimental class and a control class, with a total sample of 60 elementary school students in Surakarta, Indonesia. The experimental class was taught mathematics on the topic of fractions using the “MathFrac Edu” learning media, while the control class received conventional instruction. Data on students' conceptual understanding of fractions were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, each consisting of essay questions based on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). In this research, the obtained data were processed employing both descriptive and inferential statistical approaches, allowing for a thorough and holistic assessment. The analysis demonstrated that the experimental group exhibited greater proficiency in conceptual understanding than the control group, achieving a higher mean score with a positive difference of 1.067 points. These results demonstrate the intervention’s effectiveness and are expected to make a substantial contribution to elementary mathematics education.
