Abstract

Objective:To evaluate tumor markers in the differential diagnosis of non malignant deseases in gynecology.Methods:Routine examination of CEA,AFP,CA 125,ESR and CRP was performed in 232 cases.Results:CEA and AFP were normal in patients with non malignant deseases in gynecology.CEA,AFP and CA 125 were not raised in patients with benign ovarian tumors.CA 125 was significantly elevated in patients with adenomyosis,endometriosis and pelvic infection.Conclusions:Tumor markers can be used not only in the differential diagnosis of benign ovarian tumor or ovarian cancer but in the differential diagnosis of uterus leio myoma,adenomyosis and endometriosis.
